Fall Leaf Collection Program

The City of Frontenac is pleased to announce the return of our curbside Leaf Collection program through Hendel Lawncare, Inc. We have contracted for four separate passes of each street.
Many of the commonly asked questions are reviewed within this flyer and we suggest you keep it for reference throughout the season. In addition to the schedule for pickups, it provides procedures for a safe and professional leaf removal process.
Participation is your choice. For those residents who prefer not to take advantage of this program, we continue to provide curbside yard-waste removal through our regular trash hauler. Leaves and other loose yard-waste should be placed in paper bags available at supermarkets and hardware stores. For leaf collection at times other than the curbside October through December pick-up, leaves must be placed in trash cans or paper yard waste bags at the curb as usual before 7:00 a.m. on Monday of each week.
The leaf vacuuming process will create dust and a small amount of leaf debris. The City will again contract separately for street cleaning. We cannot be responsible for the dust on vehicles or other items of personal property.
- DO NOT RAKE LEAVES INTO THE STREET! Leaves in the street create travel and fire hazards. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY IN LEAVE PILES THAT ARE NEAR THE STREET!
- Keep your piles long and narrow; the equipment will reach only 10 feet from the curbline.
- Please remove rocks, bricks, glass, mud, branches or other hard materials. Such items are harmful to the equipment and may injure an employee during collection. Any pile containing this debris will be passed by.
- Do not park cars on top of a leaf pile - it may ignite leaves.
- Any piles that are not picked up due to not being out on time, blocked by parked cars or any other reason will not be returned to. It is unusual that a pile would be just missed as the crews walk along up and down each curb moving at less than 1 mile per hour.
- Due to various sizes of piles, we cannot specify the exact time or date we will collect on a particular street. Please have your leaves out the weekend before your area is scheduled for pick up. Please be patient - we will collect everything.
