Smoke Detector Installation

Every day, families like yours face the reality of fire. According to the National Fire Protection Association, a house fire starts every 83 seconds, and research has shown that today’s modern furnishings may cause fires to spread more rapidly than in the past.

Your family’s chances of surviving a house fire double when there are working smoke detectors in the home. Properly working smoke detectors provide an early warning in the event of a fire that may allow you and your family sufficient time to get out and call the fire department.

The National Fire Protection Association recommends installing smoke detectors in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of your home. Smoke detectors should be tested monthly and need to be replaced every 10 years from the date of manufacture. Batteries should be changed per manufacturer recommendation.

Do you need working smoke detectors in your home? Contact the Fire Department for a free smoke detector installation. This valuable service is offered to all residents of Frontenac, Crystal Lake Park, Huntleigh, and Country Life Acres.

If you wish to request the installation of smoke detectors in your home, please call (314) 994-1801 to learn more about this program.
