What types of inspections are involved?

When a permit is issued, the contractor or owner who picks up the permit will receive a conditions of permit statement that he or she signs.

In the conditions of permit we list the required inspections. Typical inspections are footings, foundations, framing prior to covering any framing members, drywall screw inspection and final inspections. The city also contracts with St. Louis County for mechanical, plumbing and electrical code enforcement, so any work involving these trades requires a permit from St. Louis County and inspections by them. The City does require all related county inspections be approved and signed off prior to the City inspection.
