The Board of Zoning Adjustment, also established by State Statute, is the zoning appeals body for the City.  The Board of Adjustment serves a quasi-judicial role, allowing it to make a judgment as to the interpretation of the zoning provisions in the context of the specific facts of the case.  Their decisions affect private property rights to the same extent as court decisions.

The Board of Adjustment shall be held at the call of the Chairman and at such other times as the Board may determine.
