Building Commissioner

The City of Frontenac is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building Commissioner.  The Building Commissioner is responsible for the daily operations of the building department. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of supervisory experience and ICC certification as a building inspector, plans examiner and building official. A degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or a related field or equivalent experience is also desirable. Strong written and oral communication skills focused on delivering superior customer services are necessary to consult with construction professionals, convey compliance concerns and recommendations and compose reports. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential to developing positive intergovernmental and private sector relationships and leading the Building Department.

The annual salary range for the Building Commissioner is commensurate with experience ($74,909 to $101,127).  The comprehensive compensation package includes excellent benefits (pension, health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave, etc.), flexibility to meet personal and family needs and use a city vehicle or travel reimbursement.
